The Role
The post holder will provide comprehensive clerical support to the Radiology Department ensuring a high quality service is maintained to patients and staff
The working pattern for this role is - Monday - Friday
In this key role, you will:
Reception of Patients
The post holder will undertake the reception of Out Patients and Accident and Emergency patients requiring x‑ray examinations, giving advice and instruction to patients and relatives when necessary. Dealing compassionately and calmly with distressed or aggressive patients ensuring a speedy resolution to any problems that may occur.
Radiology Management Computer System
The post holder will ensure the accurate input and update of patient information into the Radiology Management Computer system.
Appointments
The post holder will maintain both manual and computerised appointment systems, ensuring appropriate information and basic clinical advice is provided to patients with regard to their radiology examination.
Distribution of Reports
The post holder will ensure that all radiology examination reports are distributed to their correct destination to allow appropriate care and follow up treatment of patients.
What You'll Bring
* The post holder should have good keyboard skills with the ability to enter information into the computer database with speed and accuracy.
* The post holder should be educated to Standard Grade level and have gained a qualification in English.
* Experience in dealing with the General Public is an essential requirement for this post.
* The post holder should possess good communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise the workload, use own initiative, work under pressure and as part of a team in order to accomplish all required tasks.
A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rated basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
