Position
Specialist Podiatrist – Band 6 – 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Provide assessment, diagnosis and implementation of individual treatment plans, and discharge patients according to set criteria.
* Support completion of nail surgery competency.
* Manage a mixed caseload across Mansfield and Ashfield, including routine care, high‑risk wound care, domiciliary visits and participation in the local nail surgery rota.
* Travel between multiple sites across Nottinghamshire to carry out duties.
* Plan and manage the caseload in partnership with senior podiatrists; use mentoring support.
* Provide and instruct clients and carers on podiatry interventions, using verbal and non‑verbal communication tools.
* Assist colleagues with complex or challenging clients.
* Maintain stock levels and manage patient appointment bookings.
* Record patient information and treatment activity using SystmONE.
* Submit accurate records of sickness, lieu time, study, expenses and annual leave.
* Attend Nottinghamshire‑wide team meetings and training days, including POMs and LA updates.
* Comply with organisational and departmental policies and procedures, and participate in their review and update.
Opportunities & Development
* Work within the Podiatric Surgery team, Community‑based Foot Protection Team and Diabetic MDT hospital clinics.
* Additional CPD training and internal career advancement available.
* Possibility to rotate into Podiatric Surgery, Foot Protection Team and Diabetic MDT hospital‑based clinics.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Full and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Degree or Diploma in Podiatric Medicine and a certificate for Local Anaesthesia or working towards it.
* New or final‑year podiatry students are welcome to apply.
* Must be able to meet the physical and travel requirements of the position.
* Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use (reasonable adjustments for disabled individuals).
* DBS check required; applicant will bear the cost and it will be deducted from salary over the first two months.
Employment Conditions
* Work pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30.
* Salary will be subject to deduction for DBS checks and any fees thereafter.
* Position available until Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
