Main Duties
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, the purpose of the Warehouse Operative will be to complete tasks that support the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including upkeep, organization of bin bay locations, and ensuring correct storage of all products. The role is physically demanding, with manual handling being a key requirement.
Key Skills
* Adhering to good practice within the warehouse
* Correctly picking orders and placing them in the appropriate locations for delivery
* Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors or managers
* Ensuring new stock is stored promptly in the correct bin bay and matches delivery notes
* Assisting with weekly stock audits
* Completing relevant documentation such as out-of-date lists, damaged stock reports, and track records for forklifts and pedestrians
* Following health and safety procedures
* Wearing appropriate safety equipment on-site (e.g., safety boots, gloves, high-visibility vests)
* Prioritizing workloads effectively
* Maintaining flexibility in work approach
* Assisting drivers as a secondman or driver's mate when required
Knowledge and Experience
* Good teamwork and communication skills
* Product knowledge
* Counterbalance / Flexi FLT license (preferred)
* Experience with handheld scanners (preferred)
