- Project Planner opportunity supporting major Space and Defence programmes
- £50.00 per hour via Umbrella | 12-month contract
- Portsmouth based
- SC Clearance eligibility required | 37-hour working week
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is a leading aerospace and defence organisation delivering innovative technologies across complex and high-profile programmes. Working within a fast-paced project environment, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of strategic projects and bids within the Space sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join the team.
THE PROJECT PLANNER ROLE:
As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and analysing integrated project schedules across a portfolio of complex programmes. Working closely with Project Managers and Integrated Project Teams, you will provide critical planning insight to support successful project delivery.
You will:
- Create and maintain integrated project schedules and work breakdown structures
- Perform schedule analysis, critical path analysis and schedule health checks
- Support earned value management, risk management and change control activities
- Track project milestones, costs and resource requirements
- Produce project reporting and management information for senior stakeholders
- Support bid and growth activities through robust project planning
- Develop and maintain planning templates and best practices
- Work closely with project teams to ensure schedule integrity and delivery confidence
PROJECT PLANNER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proven experience as a Project Planner, Integrated Planner or Planning Manager
- Strong knowledge of project planning methodologies and best practice
- Experience with Critical Path Analysis, WBS development and resource planning
- Experience supporting risk management, earned value and change control activities
- Advanced MS Project Professional experience
- Strong Primavera P6 experience
- Previous experience of Product Data Management tools e.g. Windchill, Teamcenter
- Previous experience of file/data management tools e.g. Adobe, FTP, Nero
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to obtain SC Clearance
