Trust Clinical Fellow in Medicine
Mid and South Essex Hospitals NHS trust is looking for enthusiastic applicants for the post of Trust Clinical Fellow in Medicine.
We will offer you development opportunities to gain experience and further exposure to General Internal Medicine while building upon your existing basic and specialty training.
As a Clinical Fellow, you will be involved in:
* Work on any wards in Medicine and Acute Medicine, rotating between acute frailty and longer stay wards.
* Gain experience in an ambulatory unit.
* Assist with the unselected medical take (general and geriatric medicine) and contribute to the acute medical take at a SHO level.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team under consultant supervision.
* Participate in organised on‑call medical receiving rotas.
Additional exposure will be provided in medical specialities at different levels—including Hospital, Accident and Emergency, Acute Medicine, and an Intermediate care setting—and you may be able to undertake placements in other medical specialities within Medicine.
This post is part of a dynamic 10‑consultant team with 2 Physician Associates. The Elderly Care Service includes 4 Care of Elderly wards plus a 7‑day Consultant‑led Frailty Unit (16 beds) and 4 ambulatory trolleys.
Responsibilities include continuity of care on the ward, clerking and examining all new admissions when on duty, attending ward rounds, completing tasks from the round, and communicating with family members and other health professionals.
