Sales Manager – Drive Growth in Business & Industry
Office-based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire | Full Time | Permanent
Are you commercially driven, great at building relationships, and confident navigating tenders and proposals? Are you looking for a role where you can make a visible impact and play a key part in a growing contract catering business?
At Connect Catering, we deliver fresh, high-quality food and service to clients across the South East. While we’re well-established in independent education and care, our Business & Industry (B&I) sector is the primary focus for growth, and that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Sales Manager to help us grow our B&I client base, while also supporting opportunities across our core markets.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities, especially within the B&I sector. You’ll manage the full sales process, from pipeline development and proposal writing to presentations and mobilisation handover.
Based at our head office in Wallingford, you’ll work closely with our Head of Sales, Bid Writer, and Marketing team. The role requires regular travel to meet potential clients, attend site visits, and represent Connect Catering at key events.
This role suits someone who’s confident, organised, and commercially sharp, with experience in contract catering, B2B services, or facilities management.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Driving new business opportunities, with a focus on the Business & Industry sector
* Managing the full sales cycle from enquiry to contract award
* Building and maintaining a strong, well-qualified sales pipeline
* Developing bespoke, high-quality proposals and tender responses in collaboration with our Bid Writer
* Delivering persuasive client presentations and supporting site visits
* Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across sectors
* Attending industry events and representing Connect Catering in external settings
* Contributing to sales reporting and insights to help shape business development strategy
What You’ll Bring
* 3–5+ years’ experience in a sales role, ideally in contract catering, FM, or B2B service industries
* Strong knowledge of bid/tender processes and commercial proposal writing
* Excellent relationship-building and presentation skills
* Results-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness
* Strong written English and confident with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Full UK driving licence (travel required)
