Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the end-to-end implementation of a Sage ERP system within a manufacturing environment. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a proven track record of successfully delivering complex ERP programmes—particularly focused on warehouse management, order management, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the full lifecycle delivery of a Sage ERP implementation, from planning through to go-live and post-implementation support.
* Act as the senior point of contact and decision-maker, managing stakeholder relationships across IT, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain functions.
* Define and manage the programme roadmap, resource plan, and project governance framework to ensure successful delivery within time, scope, and budget.
* Oversee integration of warehouse management (WMS), order management (OMS), and manufacturing processes into the Sage ERP ecosystem.
* Drive business process alignment, change management, and user adoption across operational teams.
* Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams (internal & external), including Sage implementation partners, developers, business analysts, and SMEs.
* Identify risks, resolve issues, and manage dependencies across project workstreams.
* Report programme status and KPIs to C-suite stakeholders and steering committee.
* Ensure quality assurance, compliance, and testing protocols are rigorously applied.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager leading ERP implementations (Sage X3, Sage 200, or similar) in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order management processes, with ability to integrate these into ERP workflows.
* Experience managing complex data migrations, system integrations, and multi-stakeholder programme environments.
* Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills—able to influence at all levels, including board-level.
* Experience working on contract assignments (ideally Outside IR35) with responsibility for governance, compliance, and delivery assurance.
* Familiarity with supply chain, production planning, inventory control, and fulfilment processes is highly desirable.
* Track record of delivering technology change and transformation programmes on time and within budget.
Desirable:
* Relevant certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, or Agile PM.
* Prior experience delivering business change in regulated or complex environments.
* Background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement is a plus.
