We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves working closely with clients to support their daily activities and enhance their quality of life.
Duties
* Provide care, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
* Offer specialised dementia care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients with cognitive impairments.
* Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients during transfers.
* Administer medication as prescribed, following all relevant protocols to ensure client safety.
* Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences, promoting healthy eating habits.
* Maintain a clean and organised living space for clients, contributing to their overall well-being.
* Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, facilitating their engagement in the community.
Skills
* Strong background in patient care, with a focus on senior care practices.
* Experience in Mental health is highly desirable.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
* Knowledge of first aid principles and practices is beneficial.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience while interacting with clients.
* Proficient in medication administration protocols within a nursing home setting or similar environment.
* Capable of meal preparation that caters to individual dietary needs and preferences.
