Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer
Onsite once per month
As a procurement professional specialising in adult social care, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services essential to our frontline services. You will work closely with client teams and suppliers, manage contracts, and maintain strong relationships to ensure the highest standards of care for service users.
The role
* Procure several strategically critical contracts to ensure continuation of service to vulnerable service users.
* Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to adult social care needs.
* Source and evaluate suppliers, draft and negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
* Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality care supplies and services.
* Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings in the social care sector.
* Collaborate with other departments and partner organisations to understand procurement needs and support them.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, particularly those related to procurement and social care.
About you
* Proven ability to work autonomously and meet role and council priorities without direction.
* Ability to make decisions independently, without deferment to senior officers.
* Ability to manage multiple projects across diverse subject matters.
* Extensive knowledge of The Procurement Regulations, related legislation, case law, policy, and guidance, including the Provider Selection Regime.
* Knowledge of contract clauses, formation, management, and compliance.
* Experience in adult or children’s services procurement and contracting.
* Experience with the Procurement Act and PSR regime is desirable.
* Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply or equivalent, or senior-level procurement experience.
