Learners gain experience across front-end and back-end technologies, responsive design, frameworks like Django, data storage and databases, user authentication, APIs, automated testing, and more. What we are looking for: Strong coding skills: proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python A relevant degree (e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development) or equivalent experience Evidence of continuous professional development (courses, certifications, self projects etc) Experience using frameworks such as Django (or similar MVC frameworks); knowledge of React or other front-end frameworks is a plus Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational databases Experience with software testing (manual and/or automated, version control (e,.g. Git), APIs, user authentication Ability to teach/explain code, architectures, debugging, responsive design, best practices, performance, security Good standard of English; strong communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to design assessments / milestone projects aligned to learning outcomes Prior experience teaching at Level 5 / Higher Education / Further Education or in a bootcamp environment (desirable) Duties/responsibilities: Plan, prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, labs, workshops and assessments aligned with the curriculum, including the four built-in milestone projects Provide student support: mentoring, code reviews, feedback on assignments, answering queries, helping with debugging and problem solving Use the learning management system (LMS) & Code Institute content and platform for delivery; ensure students stay engaged, track their progress, identify learners needing extra support Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement, incorporating best practices, keeping up to date with web development trends & frameworks User-Centric Frontend Development (responsive design, content layout, accessibility) Interactive Frontend Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, handling user input, debugging / manual testing Data-Centric Back-end Development (Python, working with relational & non-relational databases) Full Stack Frameworks (Django / Python MVC frameworks, APIs, authentication, e-commerce functionality, persistent storage, automated testing) Benefits: A discounted on-site gym, sports hall, fitness class, Starbucks, osteopathy and day nursery 5-minute walk from Ewell East Station Free online qualifications Free parking on-site Nescot is graded Good by Ofstedfollowing its latest inspection in January 2023.
