About this Role
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a substantive whole‑time consultant for Bury Mental Health Services. The post covers a sector of the Bury area and has been created following a consultant move.
Patients will be seen in community clinics, at their own homes or in other clinical settings according to clinical need. The consultant will work with other sector consultants (East, West and South) and has a strong teaching commitment; candidates will contribute to teaching of medical and nursing staff.
Responsibilities
Work as part of community outpatient and early intervention services, including patient assessment, treatment planning and liaison with other services.

Person Specification
* Medical Degree
o Essential: MBChB or equivalent.
o Desirable: Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* GMC registration
o Essential: Full registration with GMC.
o Desirable: In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
* Specialist register
o Essential: Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
* AC status
o Essential: Approved Clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
* S12 approval
o Essential: Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
* Knowledge in psychiatry
o Essential: Excellent knowledge in adult psychiatry including knowledge and experience of a range of conditions and complex psychological problems.
o Desirable: Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
* Disclosure and Barring Service Check
o Required: Submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
