We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Five Wells, a category C Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

The prison has its own pharmacy on site with 7 wings, each with a medical admin. Our Pharmacy team is currently made up of: 1 Pharmacy Manager, 3 Pharmacists, 2 Senior Pharmacy Technicians, 4 Pharmacy Technicians, 4 Pharmacy assistants.
Hours 37.5 hours per week 07:00‑20:15 / 20:00‑07:15
Shift pattern currently is:
* Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday
* Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
View to work 1 in 4 weekends soon.
Salary ranges between £34,428 – £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.
Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary.
* Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high‑quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
* Work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact as part of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
* Promote safe patient care.
* Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications
* Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Relevant post‑qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi‑disciplinary team.
* Ability to work within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
