Location: Dover (hybrid) Contract: Permanent ​ Salary: £45,463 Closing Date: 15 October 2025 The role ​ Part of the Finance team, the Finance Operations Manager is an exciting and collaborative role at Migrant Help. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring strong internal controls, regulatory compliance and effective use of funds. The role supports the organisation's missions by ensuring that financial processes are accurate, efficient, and aligned with funding and legal requirements. ​ If you have a strong understanding of financial procedures with demonstrable experience of supporting and motivating a team, and are looking for an exciting role that makes a difference, we’d love to hear from you! ​ Role responsibilities ​ Oversee all accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and customer receipts Ensure accurate posting of transactions in line with fund restrictions (restricted and unrestricted) Manage bank reconciliations, journal entries and general ledger integrity Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of funds in line with grant agreements – all income and expenditure should be reconciled to the contract / grant Support Financial Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis teams with reporting requirements and data capturing Maintain documentation for audit trails and fund compliance Review financial statements monthly with Financial Reporting Manager, for final output with DDoF and DoF Monitor cash flow across multiple funding streams and bank accounts, supporting the Head of Finance with cash flow reconciliation and presentation to senior managers Support budgeting and forecasting with real time data, with accurate postings and reviewing data periodically Design and enforce internal financial controls to reduce fraud risk and improve transparency Ensure compliance with charity law, the Charity Commission (UK) and relevant financial regulations Lead the annual external audit, with production of financial statements and trustee reports Lead the preparation of schedule and documentation for external audits and independent examiners Ensure that reconciliations and records are audit ready at all times Respond to auditor and funding queries related to financial operations ​ The experience and skills you need ​ Strong understanding of charity accounting principles and fund accounting (restricted and unrestricted, designated funds) Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliation High level of numeracy, attention to detail and accuracy in data processing and reconciliations Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issue s For full person specification please see the job description ​ Migrant Help is committed to safeguarding those we provide a service to, applicants will have to undergo strict vetting procedures throughout different stages of the recruitment process therefore: ​ This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check therefore applicants must: Be able to provide documents to show their right to work in the UK (such as Passport, work visa, settled status document, certificate of registration, naturalisation as a British citizen, Biometric Residence Permit etc.) Provide full employment history for the previous 3 years and/or suitable documentation to cover any gaps in employment ​ About Migrant Help ​ Migrant Help is a leading charity that was established in 1963 and delivers a range of support and advice services to people affected by displacement and exploitation across the UK.
