Overview
The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.
We have an opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join their team in the Pharmacy department. This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern. Salary: Up to £45,000.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).
Responsibilities
* Conduct medication reviews for inpatients and outpatients, identifying interactions, contraindications, and opportunities for medicines optimisation.
* Provide tailored advice to patients on their treatment plans, including side effects, compliance, and lifestyle considerations.
* Support safe prescribing through reconciliation, clinical screening, and dose adjustment (e.g., renal or hepatic impairment).
* Review and authorise prescriptions in line with clinical guidelines, formulary restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
* Promote safe and cost-effective use of medicines by supporting adherence to local and national policies.
Requirements
* A master’s degree in pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent).
* GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
* Previous experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy role.
* Strong knowledge of therapeutics, clinical guidelines, and pharmaceutical legislation.
* Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Confident using electronic prescribing and medication administration systems (e.g., EPMA).
