About the Role
As Senior Operations Manager, you will lead and deliver world class operational services across our Trust's retained estate. Working closely with the Head of Estates Engineering and wider leadership team, you'll ensure the safe, resilient, and reliable operation of estate services that supports outstanding clinical care to our patients.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
5. Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of approximately 40 staff, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, maintenance technicians and operations managers.
6. Develop and implement the Operational Estates Strategy and Estates Integrated Management System (IMS).
7. Manage substantial operational and maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
8. Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities and coordinate emergency response capabilities.
9. Foster a culture of excellence in customer service and continuous team development.
10. Ensure compliance with NHS standards, health and safety regulations and quality management systems.
11. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
12. Lead incident investigations and implement preventative measures to minimise service disruptions.
13. Develop and monitor performance metrics, KPIs and service level agreements.
14. Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across estates operations.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
15. Degree in relevant subject area or demonstrable equivalent experience
16. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Desirable criteria
17. ISO 9001 or other compliance system qualifications
18. NEBOSH/IOSH certification
19. Master's degree in relevant subject area (e.g. engineering, facilities management or leadership)
20. Professional memberships in facilities management
21. Working towards Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body
