Fabric Technician Contract: Key Account Network Location: Sunderland, SR1 3EY (and surrounding areas) Hours of work: 40 Contract Type: Permanent We are seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to deliver a wide range of building services and engineering maintenance tasks across our client sites.​ This role will involve carpentry, fabric repairs, and basic plumbing duties, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and within required timeframes. Job Description We are looking for a professional who can confidently manage planned and reactive maintenance tasks, provide high-quality customer service, and ensure compliance with performance, safety, and operational expectations. Key Responsibilities Deliver fabric-related planned preventative maintenance (PPM), plus proactive and reactive works issued via the helpdesk. Carry out general building services maintenance, including exterior works, plumbing, mechanical tasks, and carpentry repairs. Undertake external ground works and associated maintenance activities. Provide callout response as part of the agreed client rota. Perform contractor control duties, monitoring workmanship and issuing Permits to Work where required. Ensure all equipment within scope meets specified performance criteria. Maintain equipment areas to agreed company standards and present a professional service to ensure customer satisfaction. Take a proactive approach to client liaison, addressing concerns directly or escalating to management as needed. Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications Proven experience in multi-trade fabric maintenance, including carpentry, minor building works, painting and decorating, roof repairs, and tile installation/repair. Competence in reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across various building services. Strong understanding of health and safety requirements, including risk assessments and method statements. Confidence using PDA devices and digital tools for task management and record-keeping.
