Overview

Friendship Public Charter School operates a thriving network of college-preparatory public charter schools. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Friendship serves over 4,800 students in preschool to grade 12 and guides a growing network of alumni to college completion annually. Responsibilities

* Available throughout the school year.
* Believe deeply in the Friendship mission, core values, and four value drivers: (1) Excellent Teaching and Learning (2) Outstanding Leadership (3) Environment Conducive to Learning (4) Organizational Strength and Viability.
* Hold high academic and behavioral expectations for all students.
* Lead students to high levels of academic success in an urban school environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective curriculum units and lesson plans.
* Design and deliver engaging instruction that addresses the needs of a full range of different student learning styles.
* Reflect on teaching practices and make adjustments to maximize learning time.
* Adhere to school management and discipline policies within the classroom and throughout the school campus.


Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree required.
* Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and above preferred.
* Commitment to teaching students from a minority and/or lower socioeconomic background required.
* Urban teaching experience preferred.
