Java Software Engineer

The Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled Core Java Engineer to join the London engineering team. You will design, build, and optimise mission-critical trading systems with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. This is a hands‑on role working closely with traders, quants, and other engineers to deliver high-impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and enhance high‑performance, low‑latency Java applications for real‑time trading
* Optimise system performance, memory management, and throughput
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust trading tools and infrastructure
* Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy
* Ensure code quality, testing standards, and best practices
Requirements
* Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 8+)
* Solid understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and low‑latency system design
* Familiarity with Linux, networking principles, and high‑performance system tuning
* Experience in financial markets or trading systems is advantageous but not essential
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for clean, efficient code
