As the Framatome UK business grows, we have recently established a Defence and Space business line and now have an immediate opportunity for an Operations Manager. We are seeking a person motivated by equity and inclusivity who can deliver value for our client working within our internal business, both within the UK and alongside our 18000 colleagues worldwide Your missions Framatome Ltd in the UK has main offices situated in Avonmouth, Cranfield and client offices at Sizewell B, Aztec West and HPC site. In line with our growth plans, we are delighted to advertise for a role that will report into the UK Chief Programme Officer, within a matrix management environment, with close working expected with our Engineering, PMO, Legal and Commercial functions. The role of Operations Manager | Defence has three primary objectives: Accountable to deliver Profit and Loss KPIs in line with business targets Accountable to grow the Defence sector account in terms of new market opportunities in terms of tactical organic sales Responsible to grow defence capability and capacity both in terms of people and the supply chain by close working with functional resource owners within a matrix management environment For 2026, in addition there will be an interim requirement to manage our newly created Nuclear Space subsector. The successful person for this role will be a self-driven, a team player with strong soft skills in humility, integrity and trust. The successful individual will ideally have experience of managing P&L based on bottom principles. They will also bring experience and an appreciation of engineering and technical asset cycle. Additional duties as follows: Maintaining a positive safety and security culture and a drive for equity and social value Responsible for the delivery management and co-ordination of proposals, tendering, pricing and commercial processes within Framatome working closely with Defence and Space Technical Director, Chief Programme Officer and wider business development, operational, technical and support functions. Support and contribute to overseas growth via both importing and exporting capability, products, and services. Responsible for end-to-end cash flow management and making sure profit is delivered in line with KPIs and budget requirements Liaise with customers for bid clarifications and technical queries. Follow up on tender submissions to get feedback and use this information in a continuous improvement process. This will be treated on a case-by-case basis with or without sales function input In conjunction with finance and operations, formulate costings and derive selling prices consistent within company policy, market sector and strategic requirement. In conjunction with legal and operations, provides commercial and contract assurance against Framatome UK and corporate governance requirements To be responsible for making sure national nuclear security vetting requirement and adherence to local security policy is met Owning, developing and implementing a detailed action plan covering the basic fundamentals required for a Defence business e.g. JOSCAR, security infrastructure, specific procedures/policies. Commercially aware or a variety of contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC3/4) will be highly advantageous. An appreciation of how to effectively apply e commercial risk to optimise schedule of rates, bill of quantities in the context of schedule of rates, bill of quantities, time and materials, target and fixed price arrangements.
