Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, along with a keen interest in developing their culinary skills within a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential for supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring that high standards of food safety and quality are maintained.
This is a daytime position and does not include evening work.
The suitable candidate must hold a driving licence.
This position includes weekends.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the supervision of senior kitchen staff.
* Ensure that all food is prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
* Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices to ensure a safe working environment.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
* Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements.
Experience
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Demonstrated knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques.
* Strong understanding of food safety standards and practices.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
