About the role:
We are seeking a driven Groundsperson to join our Grounds team.
You will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality racing surface throughout the year and ensuring the outside areas are well-presented. You will also assist with maintaining track and kennel equipment and support the smooth running of race meetings.
Please note: The work involves outdoor activities in varying and often inclement weather conditions and can be physically demanding. Working unsocial hours, including late evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays, will be required.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Carrying out track maintenance under the direction of the Grounds Manager.
* Preparing the track surface before each race and during meetings, including the use of tractors and maintenance equipment.
* Maintaining grass and non-racing surfaces to high standards, especially on race days and events.
* Maintaining external areas such as car parks, tarmac surfaces, and customer-facing spaces.
* Ensuring external areas are free from weeds, rubbish, and leaves.
* Testing equipment to ensure it is functional and presentable.
* Following all health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
* Ensuring compliance with GBGB rules of racing and reporting issues to your line manager.
* Prioritizing greyhound welfare and reporting any concerns.
* Working closely with kennels and officials, including GBGB representatives.

* Enjoys outdoor work
* Possesses a full clean driving license
