We are recruiting for a
Nurse Team Leader
to support a young person with complex care needs in the
Newton Abbot
area.
The client is a 13-year-old living with the long-term effects of a spinal cord injury. They require 2:1 care and have complex medical needs, including ventilator dependency, tracheostomy, suprapubic catheter, and epilepsy. Despite these challenges, the client is bright, resilient, and enjoys school, reading, technology, and time with family and friends.
Care is delivered in the client's home and community, with a strong focus on enabling them to live a full and meaningful life. The family are members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, and their cultural and religious values are central to daily life. They are seeking professional staff who can provide safe and respectful clinical care while maintaining clear boundaries and stepping back to allow the client to enjoy uninterrupted family and social time.

You will have time to deliver care properly, autonomy in your practice, and the support of a Case Manager and multi-disciplinary team.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Team Leader who will:
· Provide direct nursing care alongside clinical leadership
· Write and update care plans, policies, and risk assessments
· Undertake staff competencies and supervisions
· Liaise with the Case Manager, NHS professionals, and MDT
· Ensure a safe, skilled, and professional team approach
Essential Skills:
· Registered Nurse (Child, Adult, or Learning Disability) with valid NMC registration
· Experience in complex care (e.g. tracheostomy, ventilator, catheter, epilepsy)
· Leadership and team supervision skills
· Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable Skills:
· Knowledge of spinal cord injury and Autonomic Dysreflexia
· Experience writing and updating care plans
· IT competence with electronic care records
Hours & Pay:
· 35 hours per week
· Weekday: £37/hour
· Weekend Day: £38/hour
· Waking Night: £40/hour
· Bank Holidays: Time and a half
This position requires a fully enhanced DBS (funded by the employer) and registration with the DBS Update Service.
You will be employed directly by the client; StanleySmith Case Management oversees all aspects of the client's care package on their behalf.
StanleySmith Case Management will provide supervision, training, and ongoing support.
