Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their technical expectations. Then use those learnings to develop project and product development plans consistent with those stakeholder expectations.
* Translate customer technical needs into a technical plan, and with the commercial team assess business viability/opportunity, then lead the team to implementation of any agreed project plan in a timely, cost‑efficient manner.
* Consider health, safety and regulatory impacts of all actions associated with the deployment of Lubrizol technology.
* Diligently oversee formulation development testing to deliver robust products for commercialization, ensuring product quality in real‑world scenarios.
* Provide ongoing technical support to customers, deliver strong problem‑solving capabilities and address any support requests in a responsive and timely manner.
* Provide technical consulting to commercial to support customers as needed.
* Build and maintain customer relationships to deliver technical solutions that provide value for both the customer and Lubrizol.
* Effectively communicate project status to stakeholders in assigned project areas.
* Independently develop, execute and document project plans (scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, resources and budget/economics, final report).
* Accurately schedule testing, compile and analyze/interpret data from laboratory and mechanical testing.
* Complete timely and accurate customer reports, presentations, data and internal project reports.
* Work with internal and external test laboratories to ensure sufficient resource allocation for business demands.
* Interact regularly with Operations, Research & Development, Testing, Sales and other business areas to support business objectives.
* Act as an integral member of the technology deployment team, by developing excellent and effective working relationships with the commercial, technical and sales teams to execute business plans and strategies.
* Represent Lubrizol's interests by creating and delivering formal presentations to customers, OEMs, industry meetings and technical forums.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or minimum five years of technical experience within a related industry.
* Experience in a customer‑facing role.
* Effective project management experience, including project economics.
* General knowledge of statistics.
* Experience as a key player in a multifunctional, global team.
* Strong problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to travel up to 10% (Europe).
* An advanced chemistry or engineering degree from an accredited university or college.
* Familiarity with experimental design and statistical technique.
