Tradewind Are Recruiting - SEMH Teaching Assistants Needed in Rochdale! Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for full-time Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEND secondary school in Rochdale from September 2025. This long-term temporary role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with complex emotional and behavioural needs. The Role: Full-time, term-time only (8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday) Supporting students aged 11-16 with SEMH, Autism, and a range of additional learning difficulties Working both 1:1 and in small groups to support emotional regulation and behaviour Helping to deliver and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) Liaising closely with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support Using your skills to build positive relationships that foster trust and progress Who Should Apply? We particularly welcome applicants with: A background in psychology, counselling, social work, or experience working with children in care Experience supporting young people with SEMH or complex needs A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children to reach their potential Experience working in education or related settings (SEND or mainstream) The School: Rated Good by Ofsted (2023) Specialist SEND secondary school with an oversubscribed, well-resourced setting Focus on SEMH, Autism, and communication needs within a nurturing environment Strong leadership and a committed, caring staff team Requirements: Minimum 3 months' recent experience supporting children or young people in a UK school or related setting (references required) Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain Full CV including employment and education history Legal right to work full time in the UK Why Tradewind?
