Job Title: Food Technician Teacher Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time-Temp to Perm Salary: £29,344-£44,919 (dependent on experience) About the Role: A vibrant secondary school in Milton Keynes is looking to appoint a dedicated and organised Food Technician Teacher to support the delivery of engaging and high-quality Food Technology lessons. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of practical sessions and maintaining a safe, well-resourced learning environment. You will work as an integral part of the Design & Technology department, helping to inspire students to develop key life skills, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen. Key Responsibilities: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) desirable A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject Experience teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 is desirable) Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills Passion for food education and engaging students in practical learning Prepare and set up materials, ingredients, and specialist equipment for food practicals across all key stages Ensure a clean, safe, and organised classroom and prep area in line with health and safety and food hygiene regulations Monitor and maintain stock levels, place orders, and manage deliveries in coordination with the department lead Requirements: Previous experience in a school technician, catering, or kitchen-based role is highly desirable Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices (a Food Hygiene Certificate is beneficial) Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team A proactive and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the department Why Join Us?
