We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Assistant to join our team within Vistry Services at our West Malling office in Kent. As our Payroll Assistant, you will assist in the accurate and efficient processing of payroll for Vistry Group, which includes approximately 4,500 employees across the UK in 26 regional locations, over 200 construction sites, and 3 factories manufacturing timber frame housing components.

* Enter new employees into the system, ensuring first payday accuracy, and appropriate T&Cs are entered correctly by HR colleagues
* Enter P45s, ensuring tax codes, previous pay, and Student Loan notifications are correct
* Ensure auto-enrolment is processed and issue related documentation
* Check adherence to National Minimum Wage and Real Living Wage rules
* Process leavers, ensuring final pay accuracy, and produce/distribute payslips and P45s
* Manage holiday entitlement and payments for leavers
* Administer benefits or loans correctly and recover from final pay as applicable
* Update ResourceLink with salary changes, promotions, or role changes, auditing T&Cs entered by HR
* Ensure bonus and life assurance data are accurate and updated
* Monitor and input employee-specific variable data, including unpaid leave, overtime, travel allowance, reward payments, and absences
* Assist with payroll cut-offs, month-end, and tax year-end tasks
* Respond to employee queries regarding PAYE and payroll processes
* Generate PALs for payroll errors, issue notifications, and reconcile advances
* Support team members during absences or project work
* Maintain knowledge of policies affecting payroll output
* Review and suggest improvements to team pages on the intranet
