Job overview Purpose of volunteering role : T o support staff with facilitating ward activities for female adult inpatients at Penn Hospital, Wolverhampton. This is a voluntary role which is unpaid. Advert Examples of how you can help us : This volunteer role will be to support Dale Ward’s activity coordinator with facilitating activities for the patients. This could include games, arts/crafts, gardening. But is not limited to these. We are looking for people to share their skills/interests, to benefit patients' wellbeing. This role will involve supporting patients on the female ward only. Therefore, we request female applicants only. We would like volunteers who are looking to volunteer for at least 6 months, due to recruitment processes and ensuring consistency for our patients. Must be able to travel to Penn Hospital (travel expenses will be reimbursed) Working for our organisation How we can support you: Training and Induction. One to one support meetings. Create a plan together to meet your volunteering goals Detailed job description and main responsibilities We are looking for volunteers who have these qualities: Reliability: Commitment to a regular volunteer schedule to provide consistent support Live in the Black Country, within a reasonable travel distance to site. Volunteers must be over 18 Friendly and welcoming – good communication skills, able to speak with clients and staff and build rapport. Able to follow confidentiality policy and professional boundaries to keep themselves and patients safe. Enthusiasm and desire to help improve experiences of patients and improve wellbeing.
