The Role:
As a Solicitor is our Dispute Resolution department, we will require you to manage a varied caseload of commercial disputes and to represent clients in courts across Scotland. The ideal candidate will be client focused and proactive with a positive attitude and flexible approach. You will be a strong team player with excellent communication and technical skills.
You will have the direct support of two highly experienced Partners along with two Senior Solicitors, a Solicitor and two Trainee Solicitors. The Solicitors are supported by a dedicated Legal Secretary and Legal Support team.
The role presents an opportunity for the right candidate to develop personally and professionally within the firm and gain promotion. You will have the opportunity to handle your own caseload end to end with the support from your team when required.

Responsibilities:
* Acting on behalf of clients in the resolution of contentious issues, including conducting hearings in the Sheriff Courts and the Court of Session.
* To provide advocacy in tribunals, arbitration and mediation
* Taking statements, attending consultations, drafting pleadings, instructing expert witnesses, preparing cases for proofs/debates
* Actively participating in business development opportunities
* Working collaboratively and flexibly with other team members
* Working closely with experts and ensuring counsel are instructed accordingly where required
* Supporting the partners to continuously drive forward business opportunities
Requirements:
* Strong work ethic and team player
* 2+ years PQE
* Strong technical knowledge
* Excellent communication and organisation skills
* Ability to work independently
* Positive outlook
* Proactive and responsive to client’s demands
* An ability to liaise effectively with peers and clients at various levels of seniority
