In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, service timeliness, and safety, all within the Trust's expectations. You will also play a key part in supporting the development and utilisation of the Patient Ordering Experience through the innovative SAFFRON system, contributing to continuous improvements in patient nutrition and satisfaction.If you are committed to excellence in food hygiene, safety, and customer service, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic healthcare environment.What You'll Do:Ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.Prepare, portion, and handle food following company procedures, including sandwich prep and cook chill methodsManage stock rotation, ordering, and conduct weekly stock checks to maintain inventory accuracyDeliver food trolleys to patient areas safely and promptly, ensuring confidentiality and patient wellbeing.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with departmental policies, including equipment and area cleaningSupport training and induction of new staff, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2000 and other relevant policiesHandle special dietary requirements accurately as specified by Diet Chefs and ensure food sampling is performed per policyOperate all kitchen equipment safely, report faults promptly, and undertake catering duties across various service areas as neededWhat You Bring:Experience of working within the NHSCook, chill, cook freeze, plated and bulk methods of productionExperience of Catering/Patient LiaisonExperience of Patient Catering/Retail within a hospital .environmentEffective communication and customer care skills with patients, visitors, customers, clients, and staffStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff at all levelsGood time management and organisational skillWhat we offer:Working at Sodexo isn't just a job — it's a chance to make a difference every day.
