Our client is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to oversee the daily administration of the payroll system, procedures, and service delivery, ensuring compliance with statutory, legal, and contractual requirements, and that payments are processed accurately and timely each month.
Key responsibilities of the Payroll Team Leader:
* Supervise the Payroll Team to ensure accurate payment processing, timely production and validation of payslips, statutory returns, and reports.
* Act as the escalation point for internal queries from the Payroll Team and other departments.
* Manage workload allocation among Payroll & Pensions Officers, providing cover during absences and ensuring resource availability during peak periods.
* Administer multiple pension schemes, ensuring proper reporting of transactions and timely responses to pension administrators' queries.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and pension scheme requirements, such as monthly pension returns and auto-enrollment.
* Process monthly payroll, including post-payroll reporting and general ledger uploads.
* Prepare and reconcile month-end payments and returns (HMRC, pension administrators, etc.).
* Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing necessary information and support.
* Stay informed about relevant regulations and legislation, sharing updates with the team.
* Collaborate with other Operations teams within the POE division to improve processes and service delivery.
* Work with the Payroll Manager to enhance payroll services, identify efficiency improvements, and develop solutions.
* Act as Deputy for the Payroll Manager when required.
* Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
