As part of our continued expansion in the Midlands region, SAV is looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer to support our growing base of clients. This role is ideal for someone who shares our vision for low-carbon technologies and is keen to play a hands-on role in reducing emissions from commercial buildings.
Main Purpose of the Job
To act as a brand ambassador for SAV Aftersales, delivering first-class service to customers by commissioning, servicing, and maintaining gas-fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units, as well as working with related products such as heat pumps, electric boilers, heat interface units, ventilation systems, and other solutions within SAV's portfolio.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Commission, service, and maintain gas-fired CHP units, heat pumps, electric boilers, heat interface units, and additional SAV technologies.
* Fault-find and survey commercial heating installations in a variety of sectors, including hotels, schools, and healthcare facilities.
* Provide on-site technical support mainly across the Midlands region, ensuring efficient system operation for local clients.
* Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, delivering a first-class service.
* Generate accurate and timely site reports within our CRM system.
* Take part in manufacturer and in-house CPD training to achieve industry-recognised qualifications.
* Follow Health and Safety regulations at all times.
* Short periods of travel and overnight stays may occasionally be required.
Skills and Experience
* Strong working knowledge of combustion processes and the correct commissioning and setup (using combustion analysers) of gas appliances and burners.
* Proven experience providing technical support for commercial gas and heating systems.
* A technical aptitude with an interest in low-carbon and renewable technologies.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good MS Office skills are essential; CRM experience is desirable.
* Strong time management, prioritisation, and teamwork skills.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education and Qualifications
* COCN1, CIGA1, TPCP1A, CPA1, CGRE.
* Current commercial gas ACS certificates and Gas Safe registration.
* Safe electrical isolation skills (in-house training available if required).
Additional Requirements
* A valid and relevant CSCS card.
* Full UK driving licence.
