Job Profile
As a Biomedical Scientist, you will perform technical and scientific laboratory work under the supervision of senior staff or consultants, primarily within the Histopathology department, ensuring adherence to scientific standards.
Job Details
1. Type: Permanent
2. Hours: 37.5 hours/week, including 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota basis

Key Duties
* Assist senior biomedical scientists with routine tasks such as embedding, microtomy, special staining, immunohistochemistry, specimen handling, biopsy transfers, frozen sectioning, quality control, and cytology processes.
* Follow policies and procedures consistently.
* Participate in quality assurance and evaluate new equipment and methods.
* Maintain stock control and operate laboratory equipment after appropriate training.
* Work rotational shifts across all laboratory areas, including Mohs technique if trained.
Skills & Experience
* HCPC registration with post-registration histology laboratory experience
* Knowledge of UKAS requirements
* Strong skills in routine histology tasks and experience with LIMS systems
