About Port
Port is building the infrastructure for the future of last-mile delivery. We provide electric bikes for rental, used by couriers across London, powered by our proprietary charging station technology and a growing network of urban hubs.
The Role
We’re looking for a Launch & Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the end-to-end deployment of new hubs, manage upgrade projects for live sites, and contribute to technical R&D efforts that scale and future-proof our network globally. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on coordinating operations, managing vendors, and bringing complex physical and digital systems to life.
What You'll Do
1. Hub Launch Project Management
* Own the entire lifecycle of launching new hubs — from surveys to go-live
* Coordinate electrical and internet feasibility assessments
* Manage layout planning, contractor scheduling, and equipment deliveries
* Oversee on-site installs: wiring, cages, chargers, access control, internet
* Deploy routers and ensure telemetry connectivity
* Test and sign off with stakeholders, manage hand over to operations teams
2. Projects for Live Hubs & Infrastructure Innovation
* Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades: new bike racks, fibre internet installation, electrical upgrades
* Lead technical R&D projects to improve hub efficiency and capacity
* Examples: high-density bike layouts, power capacity expansion, smarter access systems
* Investigate and test solutions like AI-enabled CCTV, environmental sensors, and energy monitoring
* Pilot and deploy advanced site technologies with internal or external collaborators
* Document findings, conduct field trials, and contribute to rollout plans
3. Documentation & Communication
* Maintain a clear, step-by-step launch tracker and prepare overall deployment plans
* Ensure smooth handoff of launched hubs to operations and maintenance teams
* Support internal process improvement and standardisation of rollout playbooks
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves
* 4+ years of project or operations management in a physical deployment context (mobility, telecom, logistics, construction, EV infrastructure, or similar)
* Experience managing external contractors and coordinating across disciplines (electrical, network, mechanical)
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle parallel deployments and interventions
* A bias for execution and autonomy — you're the type to proactively unblock yourself
Bonus Points
* Experience leading or contributing to infrastructure-related R&D or pilot programs
* Comfort with CAD, layout planning tools, or data-driven site modelling
How You Work
* You’re operationally obsessed and love building reliable, repeatable systems
* You’re both execution-focused and curious — equally happy managing today’s rollout and imagining tomorrow’s
* You have a strong sense of ownership and take pride in delivering quality infrastructure
* You love turning chaos into clarity and creating systems that scale
* You can switch between fieldwork, warehouse visits, and laptop execution easily
* You’re resourceful, calm under pressure, and always thinking 2–3 steps ahead
What Success Looks Like
* Hubs go live on time and on budget — and stay reliable over time
* Contractors are tightly managed, and surprises are reduced
* Internal teams always know where a project stands
* The launch playbook becomes faster, smoother, and better with each iteration
* You identify smart ways to increase density, reduce power draw, or enhance safety
* Our infrastructure gets smarter, more resilient, and more efficient every quarter
Why Join Us?
You’ll be joining a team building a new kind of urban infrastructure — one that makes mobility more accessible, sustainable, and efficient. You’ll work on meaningful, tangible projects with real-world impact, and have ownership over a growing part of our operations.
