We’re looking for a Sports Coach to work as a Teaching Assistant in a welcoming primary school near Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your coaching experience to engage and support children in their education—especially those who thrive through physical activity. The Role: Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, or additional learning needs. Assist in PE lessons and lead fun lunchtime or after-school sports clubs. Help maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive environment. Act as a role model for children aged 5–11, building trust and motivation through activity. About the School: The school includes a Specialist Resource Base for pupils with a range of needs (from ALN to behaviour). With small class sizes and a supportive team, the school values structure, patience, and engaging teaching. Physical activity is central to many pupils’ success—making a sports coach the ideal fit. Previous coaches have successfully transitioned into long-term TA roles and received school-funded training. What We’re Looking For: Background in sports, coaching, PE, or active youth work. Experience working with children or young people (schools, clubs, camps, etc.). Confident communicator with a calm, patient, and resilient approach.
