Job Description
Key responsibilities
* As directed by the Scheme Finance Treasury Manager, provide support with the development and maintenance of the accounting and treasury records systems.
* The processing of accounting and treasury transactions to update the accounting and treasury records for client accounts.
* Complete and distribute regulatory reports.
* Filing and associated "housekeeping" duties and any other reasonable duties.
* Adhere to the ISO and Investors in People standards, Quality Management System and comply with pensions and FCA regulations and initiatives, for example, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
* Ensure adherence to the business FCA CASS client monies rules operational processes and reporting.
Key tasks
* Processing manual, domestic and international payments on multiple banking platforms.
* Processing daily BACs and CHAPS sweeps.
* Receive, record and process cheque receipts for all clients.
* Recording and processing of daily bank receipts from account statements.
* Preparing and posting journals for receipts in relevant systems.
* Updating the member records with receipts in relevant systems.
* Liaising with Finance and Pension Operation Teams.
* Ensure that all FCA CASS operational processes and controls are carried out on a timely basis.
* Prepare client treasury reports and reconciliations as required.
* Process complaints at the earliest opportunity with a positive attitude, addressing the true root cause and implementing effective corrective action to prevent re-occurrence.
* Identify and report risks and breaches immediately to your line manager and/or the Operational Risk and Compliance Department.
What are we looking for
Essential
* Experience of BACS and SWIFT technology.
* Knowledge of payment file format and structure.
* Experience of Accounting and Treasury Management systems.
* Experience of Accounting software packages.
* Experience of working in an accounts department.
* Can demonstrate double entry, accruals, prepayments.
* Understanding of the various types of pension schemes and terminology.
* Experience in the preparation of pension scheme financial statements.
* Use of Outlook and Word for writing letters and email.
* Able to sort, filter and organise data and produce easily readable spreadsheets.
* Ensure that all data is accurately processed particularly in relation to payment of monies.
* Understanding of treasury processes and banking systems.
Desirable
* Understanding of accounting double entry principles.
