Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a permanent healthcare assistant to join the practice, supporting the nursing team. The hours for this role can be flexible, so please apply to discuss.
Working under the direct supervision of the lead nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
The role offers the opportunity to build on your experience, skills, and competence, requiring effective work within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Main duties of the job
* Venepuncture and phlebotomy checks
* New patient health checks
* Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
* Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during minor operations
* Providing health promotion and education for patients, families, and carers

Qualifications
* Phlebotomy/venepuncture qualification
* Successful completion of the Care Certificate
* Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent
Experience
* Confidence and competence in a healthcare setting
* Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills
* Confidentiality, compassion, and respect for patient dignity
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Experience working within a GP practice
* Strong clinical skills
