As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will become part of a highly skilled engineering team working on the development of prototype, pilot, and future commercial-scale systems. The responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer include: Developing mechanical designs for prototype, pilot, and commercial-scale process systems Producing 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, plant layouts, and engineering documentation Supporting equipment integration, piping arrangements, structural layouts, and overall plant configuration Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering, controls, chemistry, and operations teams Contributing to prototype build activities, technical problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives Requirements: Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Experience using 3D CAD software within an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally SolidWorks Strong problem-solving ability with a practical engineering mindset and the confidence to work across both hands-on and design-based engineering activities Experience within process plant, energy, industrial manufacturing, chemical, waste processing, or similar engineering environments would be highly advantageous Exposure to pressure systems, piping layouts, skids, integrated plant equipment, prototype development, fabrication, FEA, or CFD would be beneficial, alongside the ability to thrive in a fast-paced multidisciplinary engineering environment What this is offering: Salary of £35,000-£50,000 depending on experience.
