The Strategic Procurement Specialist will negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies, achieve the best contractual conditions and ensure internal customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Defining supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels.
* Leading negotiations and allocating needs to specific suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions and transmitting information to Procurement.
* Managing claims; including commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. and may also include purchasing activities.
* Advising functional managers or other functions regarding approaches, processes and procedures in the own field.
* Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems.
* Leading as a project leader of medium sized projects or major contributor to bigger projects, typically taking 3‑6 months to complete and the time horizon for results/impact 2‑12 months after the event.
Qualifications
* Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with experience in sourcing).
* Strong work experience in direct procurement within oil and gas/subsea/manufacturing sector.
* Experience in commodity management.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
* Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
* Willingness to travel to meet suppliers as and when required.
* Permanent work permit in the UK.
