Pearson Whiffin Recruitment is currently working with a well-established manufacturing business based in the Rochester area, who are looking to strengthen their production team with an experienced Digital Print Operator on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is a hands-on role within a busy, fast-paced print environment, suited to someone who enjoys working with modern digital press equipment and takes real pride in producing high-quality output. The business is going through a period of change and investment, making this a great time to join and establish yourself long-term.
The role:
Working as part of a close-knit production team, you’ll be responsible for operating digital print machinery and ensuring jobs are delivered accurately, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Setting up and running digital print presses, adjusting settings to meet job specifications
Interpreting job instructions, artwork and production requirements
Monitoring print quality, colour accuracy and registration throughout production runs
Carrying out routine cleaning, checks and basic maintenance to keep machines running smoothly
Troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime and maintain workflow
Recording production information, materials usage and waste
Working closely with pre-press, finishing and production colleagues to keep jobs moving
Shifts & environment:
A rotating AM / PM shift pattern is in place, with permanent night shifts also available
Enhanced rates apply for night work, with overtime paid at premium rates
This is a production environment with frequent changeovers, where attention to detail and reliability are essential
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience operating digital print equipment (HP Indigo experience is highly desirable, but not essential)
Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
Good mechanical aptitude and confidence working with machinery
Basic IT skills and the ability to follow technical instructions
A positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to be flexible across shifts
Comfortable with manual handling and standing for long periods
