The Estates Department operates and maintains energy and environmental resources, controls, electrical and mechanical services, providing power, lighting, heating, and air conditioning to wards, outpatients, and operating theatres. Estates directly impacts patient welfare, frontline clinical care, infection prevention and control, energy efficiency, and sustainability across the Trust.
We have an exciting opportunity for a committed, highly self-motivated individual. The Royal Marsden is looking for an Estates Support Officer to join the Estates Team in Chelsea. This is a broad-ranging role that will expose the post holder to various Estates services, including mechanical, electrical, building, energy control systems, and project management. The candidate must be proactive in developing their technical knowledge through training and work, engaging in discussions about skills, techniques, and methods to develop as a professional. Conduct at all times must align with Trust Values.
Main duties of the job
1. Be dynamic, flexible, and adaptable to changing needs and priorities. Take proactive steps to learn all aspects of the role and maintain CPD.
2. Use initiative to proactively progress objectives and tasks.
3. Advance Estates digitalisation, learn and implement processes and procedures to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
4. Become competent in digital tools including CAFM, BIM, CDE, AutoCAD, NHS portals, Model Hospital, PAM, Collaboration hub, and Excel software.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Collect, analyze, and manage data, increasing digitalisation and systemisation, ensuring transparency and data quality. Assist staff in complying with regulations.
2. Manage all aspects within the CAFM system and train new staff. Update information as required.
3. Conduct physical surveys, audits, and risk assessments on assets, infrastructure, and services, ensuring compliance with standards, safety, and policies.
4. Develop and analyze KPIs and SLAs, produce reports to evidence compliance, and report on safety and project responsibilities.
5. Maintain records on risks, safety, and governance.
Person specification
Education / Qualifications
* Good education standard, numeracy, and literacy.
* Understanding of asset data systems, management, and reporting.
* College/Higher Education to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience with relevant certificates.
Desirable criteria
* NVQ Level 3/BTEC in IT, data management, engineering, etc.
* Experience with CAFM or similar systems.
* Experience in data analysis and reporting in a quality management environment.
* Professional registration relevant to engineering, management, or procurement.
* Understanding of Building Services is advantageous.
Experience
* Experience in maintenance environments, healthcare premises, or large organizations.
Desirable experience
* Experience with ISO 9001 QMS, AutoCAD, H&S files, BMS, Helpdesk, HR, financial, and procurement systems.
* Liaising with customers and supporting clinical care via helpdesk.
