Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality service while ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with safety standards. Class 1 would be an advantage (but isn't essential).
Duties
* Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for diagnostics and repairs.
* Perform fabrication, welding, and soldering tasks as required for vehicle modifications or repairs.
* Interpret schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot issues effectively.
* Carry out equipment repair and assembly tasks on various vehicle components.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
* Assist in heavy lifting and moving of equipment as necessary.
Experience
* Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role within the automotive industry.
* Strong electrical experience alongside mechanical knowledge is essential.
* Familiarity with excavators, forklifts, and other heavy machinery is advantageous.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
