Role Description
* A highly visible, site-embedded HSE professional who enjoys being out on the terminal, engaging directly with operators, supervisors and contractors.
* Acting as the principal, day-to-day lead and HSE adviser for the ThamesTerminal.
* Being a visible and approachable presence on site — engaging daily with employees and contractors to influence safe behaviours.
* Leading and participating in regular site walkabouts, safety conversations, toolbox talks and safety observation rounds.
* Providing practical, real‑time advice to supervisors and teams during live operations and high‑risk activities.
* Challenging unsafe behaviours constructively and consistently, helping to embed a strong safety culture.
* Working closely with contractors — reviewing activities, permits, RAMS and controls on the ground, not just on paper.
* Supporting and leading incident and near‑miss investigations, ensuring learning is shared and improvements are visible on site.
* Facilitating terminal safety meetings that are practical, engaging and action‑focused.
* Monitoring process safety performance and advising on the prevention of major accidents in a high‑hazard environment.

* Building strong working relationships with other Navigator terminals to share learning and improve performance.
* Attending site out of hours where required to support operations.
Experience & Qualifications
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and active IOSH CPD.
* Experience in a site‑based HSE role within a high‑hazard or regulated environment (e.g. chemicals, COMAH, terminals, energy, heavy industry).
* Proven track record of hands‑on, on‑site safety leadership.
* Strong experience working with contractors and operational teams.
* Incident investigation experience (e.g. Tripod).
