Department Community Occupational Therapy Service

Salary Grade 8, £29,884.00 to £32,654.00 per annum

Location County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight - with travel to Winchester University

Fixed term to July 2028, you will undertake a 3-year part time degree apprenticeship as part of this role with Winchester University

Who Should Apply?

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will gain experience in the following areas:

* Managing a caseload
* Performing assessments that are holistic and person-centred.
* Triage of referrals to occupational therapy.
* Prescription of low-level equipment
* Participation in supervision and maintaining professional development.

Start date: September 2025 in partnership with Winchester University

Our aim is to shape 'confident learners' by enabling you to develop the skills needed to excel in your studies with the University and as well as onto further studies or the employment market.

Your learning will be embedded within the workplace. Learning will be delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops, online-learning and projects. As well as through full time placement experience and on-the-job training within the workplace.

Apprentices will attend the University of Winchester one day per week, alongside one day per week of guided independent
learning. Apprentices will also undertake three full-time placements outside the usual workplace.
