About The Role
Reports to the Head of Technical, working in conjunction with another QA Manager, and sharing full responsibility for the QA Department
Through the continual management, development and auditing of the Quality Management System ensure that the appropriate process control systems and procedures exist to deliver consistent and effective control of all products.
To deliver a Continuous Quality & Food Safety Improvement program through the development and implementation of improvement techniques on site.
The Role:
To work closely with the Operations Management team to ensure all Food Safety, Quality and Legal requirements are controlled and met.
Responsibilities & Requirements
1. Responsible for ensuring product safety and quality is maintained throughout the process chain
2. Ensuring adequate monitoring systems are in place focussed on food safety, process control, good manufacturing practice and food handling.
3. Complaint handling, trending and reduction plans.
4. To be key part of site HACCP team ensuring legal, customer and third-party compliance.
5. Liaise with Customers and Suppliers regarding day-to-day queries and issues surrounding quality and technical management.
6. Carry out appraisals and set targets for the quality team.
7. To assist the Head of Technical and Technical Systems Manager in developing the quality management systems and processes in line with legal, customer, company and other best practice requirements, which create, maintain and improve the integrity and food safety and quality of all products manufactured.
8. To develop and maintain strong leadership across the Quality function, always ensuring that a well-structured and motivated team is in place.
9. Deputise for the Head of Technical and Technical Systems Manager in their absence.
Requirements:
10. Team management experience within chilled food manufacturing
11. Degree, or equivalent, in Food Science or similar is desirable
12. HACCP trained
13. Internal audit trained
14. Retailer-facing experience
15. Strong management skills
16. Quality assurance: 2 years (preferred)
