Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our online delivery service by assisting with various tasks related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Hours of work hours
Monday to Friday - 7.00am to 4.30pm (1 hour unpaid break)
25 Saturdays - 8.00am to 12.00pm
Duties
* To correctly pick and package all items leaving the Warehouse area, ensuring the product and delivery labels are securely attached.
* To correctly accept and document the receipt of goods from suppliers.
* To update stock records and liaise with the Branch Manager to ensure maintenance of agreed stock levels.
* To help load and unload goods from lorries, ensuring safe handling of materials.
* To support with the introduction of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and stock movements by the end of the year.
* Maintain an organised warehouse environment by properly stocking shelves and managing inventory.
* Conduct quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products to ensure compliance with standards.
* Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
* Eventually to operate forklifts as required, following all safety guidelines - full training will be given.
* Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse space.
* Support the other Yard Operatives on an adhoc basis, if the Warehouse has any quiet periods.
Skills
* Proficient in shipping and receiving processes.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
* Competence in operating forklifts safely (certification will be provided if required).
* Excellent attention to detail for quality control purposes.
* Strong materials handling skills to manage various types of goods within the warehouse.
