Thomson Cooper is an independent firm of Accountants and Business Advisors operating across Central Scotland with offices in Edinburgh and Dunfermline. In recent years our Audit portfolio has grown significantly and is now a large and diverse portfolio of commercial and third sector entities in various sectors.

THE ROLE
The position will suit an individual with 12 – 18 months’ experience working within audit and who has a keen interest in that area.
You will work within our audit team across a variety of client and industry sectors including owner managed businesses and not-for-profit clients under the supervision of our audit senior and managers therefore you must have the necessary skill set to develop and maintain relationships with both clients and colleagues.
* Drafting planning and completion documents for senior review
* Undertaking substantive testing and analytical review
* Attending stock counts
* Liaising with the audit senior to ensuring clear lines of communication
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Working between client premises and our offices
* Working as part of a team
* Adhoc tasks for the audit team
* Preparation of Statutory Accounts from client data (experience preferred but not essential)
ABOUT YOU
* At least 12 – 18 months’ experience of working within a busy audit team.
* Strong work ethic with commitment to deliver first class service
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Excellent technical knowledge and IT skills
* Strong communication skills both oral and written
* Can demonstrate a track record of success working within teams

This is an exciting opportunity based in either our Dunfermline or Edinburgh offices. We will consider full-time or part-time working depending on the candidate’s experience.
