About the Role
The Chef will ensure that all offerings maintain cultural authenticity, uphold the highest quality standards, and appeal to modern customer preferences. This includes managing traditional dishes preparation, sourcing authentic ingredients, and collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Emporium Restaurant is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team responsible for preparing high-quality meals and ensuring food safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* A minimum of 5 years of professional culinary experience, including extensive experience in independently managing buffet stations.
* Proven ability to independently manage busy buffet nights and outdoor catering events with minimal assistance.
* Strong organizational skills to oversee late-night shifts, party hosting, and catering services, ensuring smooth and timely operations.
* Deep knowledge of spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
* Mastery of recipe adaptation to suit customer preferences.
* Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and efficient kitchen workflows.
* Successfully completed the Certificate for Food Hygiene and Safety Training for Catering UK.
* Successfully completed the Food Allergy and Intolerance Training course, certified to comply with applicable food safety standards as per UK regulatory guidelines.
* Prior experience working in a star-rated tourist hotel, showcasing expertise in high-pressure and high-standard environments.
* Highly efficient, self-reliant, and confident in managing all aspects of buffet and catering operations without assistance.
* Adaptable to working late nights and managing party hosting and outdoor catering events.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of dishes according to the menu and restaurant standards.
* Ensure food is prepared and presented in an appealing and timely manner.
* Maintain kitchen hygiene and adhere to all food safety regulations.
* Monitor and manage inventory, ordering supplies as needed.
* Develop new recipes and improve existing dishes to enhance the menu.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring teamwork and efficiency.
* Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
