Ren Energy are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Operations team in Doncaster, working on projects across the East Midlands. This role is key to ensuring high-quality, safe, and compliant delivery of commercial and utility-scale solar PV installations.
The Role
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an electrician with commercial experience to transition into the renewable energy industry. Full in-house training on solar PV and battery storage systems will be provided, with opportunities for career progression..
This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in commercial and utilities electrical work who are passionate about renewable energy and committed to maintaining the highest health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Install and maintain solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, and battery storage units, in line with technical design specifications and industry standards.
* Install cable tray, trunking, SWA and CAT5e cables to required specifications.
* Ensure all electrical installations comply with UK electrical standards (IET Wiring Regulations) and health & safety requirements.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of renewable energy technologies and legislation.
* Monitor and enforce excellent H&S practices on all sites.
* Conduct testing and inspection, ensuring systems meet regulatory and safety standards.
* Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues during installations.
* Collaborate with site teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.(or equivalent)
* 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations Certificate.
* ECS Gold Card.
* Knowledge of LV AC and DC electrical systems
* Experience in Solar PV installation (desirable).
* Strong understanding of commercial and utilities electrical systems and safety protocols.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
