Acts as the main contact for complaints, FOI requests, data protection enquiries, Ombudsman/ICO cases, and Member enquiries within Children’s Services. Manages and investigates complaints, ensuring they are logged, tracked, resolved within legal timescales, and meet quality standards. Provides expert advice on legislation (e.g. FOI, GDPR/DPA, Children Act complaints) and ensures compliance with policies and procedures. Leads on Freedom of Information requests, including coordinating responses, applying exemptions, and reporting on trends and performance. Handles data protection responsibilities such as information sharing, subject access requests, record management, and breach support. Manages Member and MP enquiries, ensuring accurate, timely responses and maintaining casework records. Supports service improvement by analysing trends, producing reports, advising staff, and contributing to policy, procedures, and training.
