SQL Server Database Developer – London Markets Insurance
A specialist London Markets insurer is building out a brand-new, modern data platform and is looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Developer to join their growing data team. What you’ll do:
* Design, build and optimise SQL Server databases to support analytics and operational workloads
* Write high-quality, efficient T-SQL procedures, views, and functions
* Develop ETL processes and support the integration of data from core insurance systems
* Work closely with BI, data architecture, and business teams to shape data structures and pipelines
* Support performance tuning, indexing, and optimisation across complex datasets
Must-have experience:
* Strong T-SQL development experience with SQL Server
* Background in the London Markets insurance sector (syndicates, brokers, carriers, or MGAs)
* Solid understanding of relational data modelling and data warehousing principles
* Experience working with business users, analysts, and other developers in a collaborative setup
Nice to have:
* Exposure to cloud data environments (e.g. Azure SQL, Synapse, Snowflake)
* Familiarity with ETL tooling, SSIS, or modern orchestration platforms
* Understanding of how database structures support BI and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI)
